yo!
i ice-skated for the first time during hall welcome week!! :D it was pretty cool cos we reached the rink at 10pm and ended at almost 1am! haha remembered the first time i stepped onto the rink, i was grabbing on to the railing for my dear life and slowly made my way around the rink (while clinging on to my lifebuoy - the railing) haha soon, pple like ravi and yaoxing were urging me to let go of it! and i am proud to say that at the end of the session, i was able to skate a little :D yays! i hereby declare that ice skating is much easier than inline skating! (which i failed terribly!!! haha)

and two weeks ago, i made a trip down to ntu dental clinic cos of a toothache that had persisted for days. lo and behold, the doctor told me i had to pluck a tooth out cos it was decayed and since it was a baby tooth, there was no point saving it (plus the decay was not minor :/) when i heard those words, i just couldnt stop crying in front of the doctor and nurse (embarrassingly). i kept repeating those words: you mean i will have a hole in my mouth? thoughts swirled in my mind, like "tourism how?", "the hole will be visible when i laugh.." i was really very upset, cos at this old age of mine, its impossible for a new tooth to grow even though the old one was a baby tooth. felt supeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeer sad and just couldnt stop crying, even as i called my dad and sh. dad advised me not to pluck on the spot but to consult another dentist, which i did the next day with my parents and she too came to the same conclusion: i had to bid farewell to my tooth. however, i was much more calm this time round, and simply accepted it, even after she took an xray of my gum and confirmed that there would be no tooth growing out anymore ): i was pretty bewildered though, that i am actually caught in such a sad situation ): i mean, i brush my teeth twice daily, as advised by the doctor. i jsut couldnt see why i was the one who had to have tooth decay ): oh wells..
but soon i felt the necessity to remove this bad tooth asap cos i wouldnt want it to infect the rest. made an appt with the doctor last wed, and i am glad i didnt give it a miss. was pretty calm throughout the whole process on the doctor's chair, except when he injeted the LA :/ gahhhh. painful like &$#(5*$8*&! my options right now are: braces (gosh!), tooth implant (gosh x 100) or to simply leave the hole as it is..
and my DEAREST AHS cheered me up with roses, card, and lele on the day i plucked my tooth! <33333 thankyou so much my dears! really didnt expect that since i was already prepared to give our dinner a miss. thankyou lele for coming all the way down to pulua ntu with the roses. thankyou shar for the sweetest card. thankyou wen, beth, sher for being the naggy mothers who kept reminding me to watch what i eat at dinnertime (you can't blame me cos i had porridge while the you all were feasting on teriyaki chicken, karage chicken, eel and chicken chop!) i love you, ahs (:

thankyou, my dears <3

am on closer terms with my roomie now. whenever i tell a friend my roomie's an exchange student from china, it is inevitable that the last two words will bring about some response (and mostly negative ones). well, i am glad to say that after almost a month sharing a room with her, she has pretty much changed my perspective on china students. or maybe i am just lucky. my roomie isnt that sort who mugs whole day and forgets to have fun. she actively seeks out ccas to join (chinese dance, cos she wants to learn!) and attempts to forge closer bonds (: her sincerity really encourages me to share more with her (: i think partly why she is different from other prcs we have encountered is because as an exchange student, she will want to maximise her six months here to the fullest and not just confine herself to her books. or maybe its just her..
still remember an incident on a sunday night, when i was rushing through my tut due on monday and she was preparing to sleep. she commented that local students are so hardworking and she has to learn more from us. isn't this the way we view prcs? the irony of it.. (and anw, given a choice, i would have slept as well, except that the tut had to be handed in..)
and since i am "stuck" with her for another four months, i shall make the best out of this experience and learn more about the china culture etc (: afterall, she IS a pretty knowledgeable girl.. a few weeks ago, she told me her views regarding china-tibet issue and asked me about sin-msia relations. i was erm stunned :/

today's DCCL was v v v v interesting.. its the 1st time i am attending a course held by the deaf. the speaker actually signed while one of the students "interpreted" for us. the speaker, freddy is super animated and it's a fun experience to learn from him! i mastered the 26 alphabets and numbers :D i am looking forward to this camp much much more now. am not regretting rejecting a chance to run for jcrc for COR 'cos i know the experience i will gain from cor is invaluble (:--
EIGHT more days before dear is back <3 emails emails emails, and one letter slowly making its way to brunei (:
really have to listen to dear dear more and try not to go out every night, but spend more time resting. it seems that i have something on every weekday night, be it COR meetings, cg, gatherings ): pooof. i dislike it the most when i have many events which clash, and i am forced to make a choice (like claire's pageant. sighhhh.)
